FTC discuss toilet block lease
16 September 2020
Fordingbridge Town Council’s General Purposes Committee met on 16 September, and discussed our suggestions for a lease for the old toilet block.
Ian Lemon presented on our behalf and did a great job. He says:
Just a quick update on tonight’s Council Meeting. Gary, Chris, and myself attended. The Town Councillors discussed our proposals and the previous terms of the Rugby Club Lease. After a discussion with some clarification from Avon Valley Shed, Councillors agreed to the terms outlined in our minutes and the letter which I had sent. A vote was taken by the Council with a positive outcome. The Town Clerk has been asked to instruct solicitors.
I am really pleased, in my view the outcome could not have been more positive!
In summary, the lease will have security of tenure, it will include land for expansion and it will have a peppercorn rent. We will be responsible for certain outgoings but nothing too onerous.
