Hello Shedders and friends

The workshop last Wednesday was particularly strong on chat and social time, with visitors and a potential new member – welcome, Paul. The keen people did produce some more bird-box kits though.

Yesterday, an elite squad went out to Breamore Primary School and repaired some sections of fence. There’s more work to do there, I think.

Our next big event will be our stall at Frogham Fair on Saturday, 25 June. In preparation for that, we’ll have a meeting at Hyde Club on Tuesday afternoon to finalise the details of what to take. That will leave us the workshop session on Wednesday to finish any building projects and get together everything that we need.

On the day at the Fair we will have a stall to let people know that we exist – this will be an important chance to contact people who want to get involved as well as anyone who might be able to help us with funding or premises. We will have various items for sale, as well as displays of crystal radio sets and other things to catch people’s eye.

The fair starts at 12:30, but some of us will need to be there well before that to erect the marquee and set everything up.

We have also offered to help with directing traffic in the car park for the Fair. There will be two shifts for that: 12:30 to 2:30 and 2:30 to 4:30. Car parkers will get a voucher for a free barbecue, as well as the chance to wear one of our new high-vis jackets!

Please let one of the trustees (Gary, Malcolm, Julie, Chris, or Paul) know if you can help with the car parking and/or the stall.

Looking beyond next weekend, we have offered to do some work for the Methodist church in Fordingbridge: painting railings and repairing a section of rendered wall. That will probably happen in the last week of June and the first week of July, so watch this space for details.
