Men's Shed Newsletter No. 21
4 July 2022
We successfully took a stall to Frogham Fair on 25 July. There were lots of people, and some interest in the Shed. We didn’t sell many of our creations though.
Several members helped with the car parking for the fair, which was very busy.
We also learnt some things for future stalls. We need a better banner: the one we have is too big for the gazebo, and we need our name to be above people’s heads, so we’ll have to fix something to the gable. And we should make the stall less like a shop: make it look inviting so that people come in to see photos of projects, examples or work etc.
Last week we met as usual on Wednesday morning. An away team went to work on the wall and railings outside the Methodist church. There will be more to do there this week – finishing wire-brushing and painting the gates and railings, and putting some white paint on the front wall.
- This Wednesday – workshop session at St. Mary’s church hall as usual
- Saturday July Damerham fair. We are planning to have another stall to help publicise the Shed.
- Saturday 6 August Community garden at the back of the allotments on Green Lane. We have offered to put up an actual shed – the base has already be put in. See https://fordingbridgegreenerliving.org/community-garden/. Apparently tea and cakes will be involved.
